The true identity of the individual or individuals who worked under the name Satoshi Nakamoto has never been revealed. Over the years many speculations have risen. Some of notable suspects include Dorian Nakamoto, Nick Szabo, Hal Finney, and Craig Wright to name a few.

Recently there were a few attempts to unmask the mysterious Satoshi Nakamoto. This includes John McAfee, who claimed he'd reveal Satoshi's identity but later backed down from his claim. The other was a mysterious website called gotsatoshi.com which popped up recently. The website only contained a countdown and an email registry form.

Got Satoshi?

At first glance, gotsatoshi.com appears to be just another marketing ploy. There were similar websites that promised quite a bit, yet to date did very little. This includes Initiative Q which took the internet by storm in 2018.

Unfortunately, many were disappointed after gotsatoshi's reveal. The website's clock countdown completed yet the website didn't reveal Bitcoin's creator's identity. Many were greeted by the same page with the countdown clock on zero. This lead to some ridicule on Twitter. The countdown coincided with one of the biggest events in the cryptocurrency world, New York Blockchain Week.

This appear to verify claims that website was nothing more than just a clever marketing ploy. Recently a video was uploaded to the website announcing the creation of "Pai News" which includes a CGI host called Satoshi.

The grotesque looking CGI "Satoshi" is reportedly powered by artificial intelligence. It later declared "We are all Satoshi Nakamoto".

This has been one of the biggest disappointments on the internet recently. Perhaps John McAfee will one day make good on his promise and reveal Satoshi Nakamoto's real identity.
