Notorious Crypto Influencer Makes Bitcoin Price Prediction
Anthony Pompliano is a well-known figure in the world of cryptocurrencies. He is possibly one of Bitcoin's best promoters and analysts online with his daily newsletter "off the chain". In addition to that he is also Co-founder & Partner at Morgan Creek Digital, a multi-strategy investment firm focused on blockchain tech.
The Bitcoin bull has made some very accurate predictions in connection to Bitcoin's price in the past.
On August 24, 2018 I called for Bitcoin to drop 50% to $3k before rallying back over $10k.— Pomp 🌪 (@APompliano) June 24, 2019
That call was deadly accurate and allowed Morgan Creek Digital to buy the dip.
Here is my next price target.https://t.co/KzhRO7u2Vi
Earlier today he made a prediction that Bitcoin's price will reach $100,000 by 2021. As per his newsletter:
"This exercise wouldn't be nearly as rewarding if (1) I didn't have material skin in the game and (2) have the stomach to be held publicly accountable for my opinions. With that in mind, I believe that Bitcoin will reach a $100,000 price point before December 31, 2021. My current confidence level of this happening is around 70-75%."
His reasoning is mainly comprised supply & demand, growing institutional adoption, global insecurity, ETFs & a comparison to gold.
Pomp has joined the likes of many cryptocurrency influencers who have made price predictions on Bitcoin. This includes John McAfee who famously claimed that he'd eat his own d*ck on national television if wrong.
When I predicted Bitcoin at $500,000 by the end of 2020, it used a model that predicted $5,000 at the end of 2017. BTC has accelerated much faster than my model assumptions. I now predict Bircoin at $1 million by the end of 2020. I will still eat my dick if wrong. pic.twitter.com/WVx3E71nyD— John McAfee (@officialmcafee) November 29, 2017
Luckily McAfee still has roughly 6 months for Bitcoin's price to reach $500,000. Pomp's prediction on the other hand seems a bit more realistic and conservative. Time will tell if these crypto influencers managed to get it right.
