Is this the Meme Coin 2019 deserves?
The cryptocurrency community has been known to love jokes and memes. Some cryptocurrencies, such as Dogecoin started as a meme only to maintain popularity. Doge launched in 2013, and still remains in the top 30 cryptocurrencies.
Despite this, John McAfee has announced the launch of a new meme currency to launch on the McAfee DEX.
McAfee Introduces "Epstein Didn't Kill Himself" Token
John McAfee is a lot of things. He's a computer scientist, presidential candidate, aficionado of illegal substances, and fan of cryptocurrencies. By following his Twitter account, it is clear that McAfee has a healthy sense of humor albeit twisted at times.
He has recently launched two different exchanges while being on the run, McAfee Magic & McAfee Dex. In addition to the launch of the DEX, McAfee is launching a token based on one of the most current popular memes.
Questions surrounding Wall Street financier Jefferey Epstein's untimely demise caused outrage. Many of the reported facts didn't seem to add up. This caused a flurry of "Epstein Didn't Kill Himself" memes which are popular on Facebook & elsewhere.
McAfee managed to make use of this meme & created a new meme cryptocurrency. As per McAfee, one out of a thousand transactions will randomly be sent to a burn address "whacking" the transaction.
https://t.co/HdSEYi9krq is releasing an "Epstein Didn't Kill Himself" token, for free, that is tradeable on the McAfee DEX. In one out of every ten transactions the tokens are randomly sent to the burn address (they're whacked) rather than to the recipient. For real. Next week.— John McAfee (@officialmcafee) November 8, 2019
The Token will apparently be called WHACKD token and will be a deflationary ERC-20 token. As part of it deflationary mechanisms, 10% of every transaction will be sent to a burn address. In addition to that, one out of a thousand transactions will be burnt completely at random. In an uncharacteristic move by McAfee, the token is free at airdrop.
We have reached out John McAfee via email and asked him a few brief questions regarding the launch of his new token. Luckily, McAfee was kind enough to answer our questions
Q) Why release an "Epstein Didn't Kill Himself" token? Do you think that it will bring more awareness to the shady demise of the Wall Street financier?
McAfee - Absolutely. Only an idiot would buy the "official" story. I believe that our government should be accountable for its actions and this is a good place to start.
Q) Do you think it has potential to become an established cryptocurrency like Dogecoin?
McAfee - No one ever knows. Cryptocurrency is like the Wild West. Impossible to predict what might happen.
Q) Will it trade on other DEX's and exchanges or will it be exclusive to McAfeeDex?
McAfee - Just on ours.
Q) Do you have any other coins or tokens planned in the future?
McAfee - No
